About me

Hello, I'm Naavya.

Portrait of Naavya Thapa

My work is grounded in social work, listening carefully, understanding how systems shape people's lives through intersecting identities and experiences, and asking what needs to change to make them fairer.

I hold a Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) from UNSW, where I was awarded the International Scientia Coursework Scholarship. I am currently undertaking a Master of Development Studies at UNSW. My studies span social policy, participatory development, human rights, disaster governance, climate change, digital advocacy and the politics of aid.

My experience spans policy advocacy, community mental health and research in disaster management systems. Across these settings, I have contributed to outreach, strategy, reports, trauma-informed practice, and supported program evaluation. I am particularly interested in bridging research, practice and policy, translating complex evidence and community perspectives into clear, accessible writing that can inform decision-making.
